The Hangover Part II opened on Thursday, receiving just $61.6 million. You may say that that's a substantial amount, but it's not considering the budget for the film was $80 million. It also received negative reviews from critics, with Rotten Tomatoes saying the film is a "crueler, darker, raunchier carbon copy of the first installment". However, the film has only been in theatres for 2 days, so things could go uphill from here.
Meanwhile, Kung Fu Panda 2 received just $5.8 million, with a budget of $150 million, meaning that it received less then 5% of what the producers, Paramount payed on it. Luckily, the film received positive reviews from critics, with Rotten Tomatoes giving it a 79 out of 100.
Sequels suck.
