Dreamworks Movie Artist Charged with Neighbour's Dog beating

Young Song, a visual effects artist for Dreamworks who has worked on films including Kung Fu Panda, Madagascar 2, Shark Tale, and Shrek is facing more than four years in prison, after being accused of beating his neighbour's puppy to death, with a hammer. Song allegedly entered his neighbour's backyard last week and shot their 16-month-old German sheperd with a pellet gun, before eventually beating it to death with a hammer.

According to the owner of the puppy, the act was caught on surveillance camera.

Song pled 'not guilty' today to one felony count of animal cruetly and one misdemeanor petty theft of a dog, after he reportedly dragged the mutilated corpse from his neighbour's yard.

Song was arrested yesterday, and is still in custody. Bail is currently set at $40,000 US. His next court appearance is scheduled for May 26th.
